British Holiday & Home Parks Association (BH&HPA) licence agreements are issued to homeowners. These agreements are the result of negotiations between the Association, Parks in the UK and the Office of Fair Trading and are designed to give security of tenure to holiday homeowners. Copies of these along with the Associations’ Code of practice can be inspected on request.
Licence agreements are issued as follows:
New single holiday homes: 15 years
New lodge/Twin holiday homes: 25 years
Used holiday homes: Variable depending on age and price of home but a minimum of 5 years is granted when homes are sold as pre-owned. The licence term will always be clearly stated when a home is offered for sale.
These licence periods can be extended at the following rate:
When extended at the time of purchase:
Single holiday homes: Licences can be extended up to a maximum of 30 years from year of original manufacture at a cost of £650.00 for each additional year requested.
Lodge/Twin holiday homes: Licences can be extended up to a maximum of 99 years from year of original manufacture at a cost of £1000.00 for each additional year requested.
When extended at any time up to the expiry of the original licence:
